Dr. Bonnie Lesley, President of Creative Education Institute (CEI), applauded today the recent publication by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of two important new documents relating to the implementation of Response-to-Intervention programs in America’s schools.

“These research-based recommendations from the Department of Education provide concrete guidance to schools,” stated Lesley, “and we are delighted to see that the recommendations align perfectly with CEI’s reading and mathematics interventions.”  The IES documents can be accessed at the following links:

“Assisting Students Struggling with Reading:  Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tier Intervention in the Primary Grades”

“Assisting Students Struggling with Mathematics:  Response to Intervention (RTI) for Elementary and Middle Schools”
http://ies.ed.gov/ncee/wwc/pdf/practiceguides/rti_math_pg_042109.pdf

Lesley encouraged all educators to review the documents and to go to CEI’s webpage at http://www.ceilearning.com/correlations.php to read correlations of the IES documents with the features of Essential Learning Systems (ELS), CEI’s reading intervention, and Mathematical Learning Systems (MLS), CEI’s mathematics intervention.

“Not only do both our programs incorporate the essential components of RTI (evidence-based interventions and screening and progress monitoring assessments), but also their lesson design, content, instructional strategies, and implementation features reflect cutting edge research on what is required effectively to teach struggling learners and to accelerate their learning,” stressed Lesley.

“Those who would like more information are invited to call 800-234-7319, ext. 131 or to e-mail us at info@ceilearning.com to ask questions, request documents, and/or to schedule a presentation,” said Lesley.  “We are experts in RTI implementation, and our service/support program is world-class!”
