From our students…

“I think that all students who have difficulty reading will be able to overcome the problem and learn to read if given the opportunity to attend a CEI lab. In sixth grade, I struggled when reading simple words. After a year in CEI, I am reading at a 9.6 grade level. Now I would rather read than watch televisionMiddle School Student – Orange County, FL

With all the encouragement, praise and hard work, the students are truly well on their way to success!”  High School Lab Facilitator – Amarillo, TX

“Of all the programs I’ve seen in 27 years in education, the CEI program for reading is the best.” Elementary School Principal – North Miami, FL “For the high achievers, it has improved their standardized test scores, some dramatically. For the low achievers, it has brought up their standardized test scores and improved their overall academic performance.” Private School Headmaster – Greenwood, MS

To read well, kids need repetition and reinforcement, especially at the youngest levels. Florida has mandated that all children be able to read by the end of the second grade, and the CEI lab emphasis will be a positive contribution to that goal in this 1,100-student pre-k facility.”  Elementary School Principal – Dade County, FL

We have had great success with the CEI program. It helps us to identify any reading problems our students may have, so we can help them. We are going to put all our kindergarteners through the program next year.” Assistant Superintendent – Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD, TX

“Self-esteem is bubbling in the CEI lab. When many of these students began the program, they had difficulty just recognizing words, but due to increased vocabulary and improved processing skills, they are now able to comprehend complete words and sentences…” Elementary School Principal – Stephens County, GA “In just 4.5 months, students showed an average increase of 2.5 grade levels in reading comprehension. To help ensure continued success, we are doubling the size of the CEI lab to 60 stations for next year. That means 360 students a day will have the benefit of experiencing one-on-one, individualized instruction.” High School Assistant Principal – Fontana, CA

This is the closest thing to one-on-one tutoring that can be achieved in a large urban school because the program is individualized for each student.” Middle School Language-Arts Teacher – Dade County, FL

“In response to the Governor’s (former Governor of Texas, now President George W. Bush) Reading Initiative, CEI labs were implemented in the two elementary schools with the lowest reading scores. When success was quickly observed at these schools, administrators decided to add CEI labs to all the other elementary schools in the district. After just one year, TEA named our district as a “Recognized” district. Three elementary schools were named “Exemplary” schools, and several elementary schools were named “Recognized” schools based on TAAS scores. We attribute part of that success to the CEI program.” Technology Director – San Antonio, Texas
