Second-grader Wyatt Newton has attended the Essential Learning Systems (ELS) lab at Era (Texas) Elementary since August 2013. Facilitator Debra Sutton shares that his reading skills have improved tremendously. His dictation and handwriting skills show improvement, too. “I enjoy seeing the smile on his face every day,” says Debra.
“Wyatt has made so much progress this year,” says his teacher, Jennifer Ross. “His reading has increased from below grade level to fourth and fifth grade [level]. His TPRI™ results show that his speed of reading and comprehension have greatly improved. This improvement in reading has helped him in Speech as well. The reading confidence has carried over into all his subjects.”
Wyatt has tested above his grade level this year, and he will graduate from the ELS program. Outstanding work, Wyatt!
