Lessons
ELSO uses skill level mastery rather than grade level mastery. Checkpoints determine what content a student has already mastered prior to starting the program. The program begins by forming words with simple patterns and then moves to more complex patterns. The ELSO management system allows each student to work on a different lesson during the same period, so students spend as much time as they need to achieve mastery.
Settings
ELSO has a variety of settings that determine how the program presents some of the tasks and how the student responds to the computer presentation. You can modify these settings to address a student’s strengths or weaknesses in the most effective manner.
